    Art and the Environment
    Canal Park Glow Cube: November 18 – December 1, 2017
    The Capitol Riverfront BID is pleased to present the inaugural series of artists’ work for display on the Canal Park Glow Cube. Artwork in this series, Art and the Environment, embraces Canal Park’s environmental design and legacy and encourages viewers to consider the human impact on the natural world. The work in this series includes both still and moving images and will be displayed nightly on the Canal Park Glow Cube at 200 M Street SE with panels facing 2nd Street SE, 2nd Place SE and M Street SE from October 5th thru December 17th, 2017.     Interlude: Unfinished Works
    Target Gallery: December 9, 2017 – January 21, 2018
    Target Gallery presents Interlude: Unfinished Works, an exhibition that gives the spotlight to the artistic process. Interlude: Unfinished Works will include artwork left both intentionally and unintentionally unfinished, giving insight to the artist’s hand and methodology. The unresolved and open ended nature of the art gives new context to the viewer of the themes and meanings of the works created. The juror for this exhibition was curator Betsy Johnson.     The Middleburg Arts Council is sponsoring the fourth annual town-wide arts celebration, Art in the Burg. Art in the Burg will partner with Foxes on the Fence which is a project of Middleburg Garden Club and Middleburg Arts Council. Art in the Burg will spotlight 20 local artists and also include music.

    The Art League Gallery at the Torpedo Factory: February 22 – March 5, 2017
    The Art League’s annual Student/Faculty exhibit showcases the diversity and talent of their prestigious visual arts school in Old Town Alexandria, VA.     Two Day Acrylic Mixed Media Workshop
    July 17-18, 2015. Two days of painting with fellow artists! Jumpstart your thinking about surface quality, depth and possibilities through the use of acrylic grounds, collage and image transfers. We will work on a series of small surfaces in varying degrees of abstraction. $120 (Saturday-Sunday; 10-4pm) A $15 supply fee will be collected. Acrylic mediums and water soluble media will be provided for experimentation. Level: Intermediate.
